Kindness Activities
Kindness is a simple, doable and universal way for us to change our world! Our society is built on a foundation of relationships, which connect individuals, families, workplaces, communities, countries. Relationship lies at the very heart of the challenges that face us, as well as in the solutions we seek. To heal our world, we must fight the selfishness and indifference which create the problem, and we must promote the magical, transformational power of simple kindness and compassion which brings the solution.
Charity concerts
As the world faces major economic problems on a global scale, youth organizations need help more than ever, to ensure that no child or teenager is left behind.
We provide a great platform to raise awareness, support and funds for existing children organizations. We promote global solidarity by encouraging immigrants to give back to their host country, and to help make a difference in the lives of children in need.
Music Master Classes
Whether for a student, teacher or just a music lover, master classes serve as a valuable resource for improving technique, and gaining insights about interpretation and artistry.
We provide an educational platform that enables students to learn about music; to perform for and to be coached by a master teacher before an audience. We expose youth to the African origins of American rythms and we enrich them with the complex syncopated rhythms originating from Africa.
Mentoring initiatives
There is an urgent need for mentoring in America, where one in four children grows up without a father in the home. Many studies show that kids without a positive role model are more likely to engage in antisocial behavior.
We provide a platform for mentoring organizations to educate the public about the benefits of mentoring (enrich the well being of the mentees by developing their self-confidence, self-esteem and a sense of belonging), and increase the number of caring adults who can impact the life of a vulnerable child.
Ancestry Reconnection Program (ARP)
Thousands of African Americans are searching for their ethnic roots, using their DNA to guide them to the place their ancestor came from. For most of them, the excitement of discovery and the connection to Africa has stayed in the vicinity of the laboratory and within their own homes. The process need not end there.
We provide a platform to help them reconnect with the land of their ancestor. We arrange for a ceremony of «Welcome and Acceptance» at the Embassy of their country of origin where they are introduced to their new "families", to the cultural and political symbols that define their second homes, and to the history, art and literature of an ancestry they should be proud of. An attestation of recognition is handed over to them as a testimonial of their new status. It is hoped that a trip to the motherland can be arranged over time, to go full circle and bring the sojourner to the logical end of their journey.
Intercultural Dialogue Program
Intercultural dialogue is about positive approaches to living together; it is a cure for the problems that derive from diverse races, beliefs, cultures, traditions and religions. An inter-cultural society is one in which peoples of differing backgrounds communicate and enrich each other, living together in understanding and shared responsibility.
To overcome the problems that are rooted in our diversities and change the way societies function for the better, we need to talk to each other, understand each other, tolerate and respect each other. This program offers a platform where cultures meet, work and create something new together. With the hope of increasing a deeper understanding and respect of culture within, beyond and across borders.
Embassy visits
Most human beings tend to see the world only from the perspective of one's own community circle.
To break down the walls between cultures we need to learn about each other. Understanding and accepting other cultures is essential to peace in the world.
We provide a platform for field trips to African Embassies which enable students (leaders of tomorrow!) to explore and experience the reel Africa, thus broadening their vision of cultural diversity.
Africa Gastronomy
Food and drink products of a country are among its most important cultural expressions. They are one of the main reasons people gather and share. Gastronomy reflects the ancestral customs, history, geography, daily life, religion, economic and social development of a region. It is an important element of cultural tourism which plays a major role in the way tourists experience a destination. Some tourists return to the destination to resample its unique gastronomy.
To help promote African culture and tourism, we provide a platform to showcase the richness and diversity of the unique and delicious African cuisine.
Roundtable Discussions
In an increasingly globalised and interdependent world, where encountering cultural difference can scarcely be avoided, the ability to enter into a tolerant and respectful dialogue is a vital skill for nations, communities, and individuals.
To help us adapt to our increasingly mixed and complex world, allow room for divergent opinion, respect diversity, and foster mutual understanding, we organize round table discussions on intercultural dialogue with the hope of creating healthier relationships and respect between communities.
Muticultural Concerts
Music is one of the oldest forms of human communication. It is universal, and can be found in all cultures at all times. In the age of globalization, it is probably the most global aspect of the "global village". In the current international climate, it is important to use the unifying power of music to maintain world peace and unity.
We provide a platform for a unique dialogue among musicians of various cultures and backgrounds which gives rise to a message of friendship, respect for cultural diversity, peaceful coexistence and tolerance for all cultural values.
